1. Name:
      The IT Club

  2. Purpose Statement:
    1. To enhance the learning of information technologies and information systems through diverse learning experience.

  3. Membership:
    • Application must be filled out.
    • Membership dues paid prior to first activity. $20.00 USD Annually.
    • Student must stay in good academic standing with O.C.C. in order to maintain their membership.
    • If a membership is terminated the student is required to have one full semester of good academic standing to be considered for re-instatement. Officer approval may be required also for re-instatement.

  4. Officers:
    • Students must be members of the IT club for 1 semester prior to applying for Officer Position.
    • Officers must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester and attend 2 semesters of class per calendar year.
    • Elections will take place during the spring semester, for the term beginning in the fall.
    • Elections shall be done via ballot voting to allow all members a chance to voice their opinions.

  5. Officer Powers and Duties: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary.
    All officers MUST ATTEND LEADERSHIP DAY!!

    • President: The President must attend club events throughout the year at each campus. The president shall preside over all monthly meeting.

    • Vice President: SHOULD attend the leadership day, the VP should oversee and attend any fundraising or StudentLIFE activities. And shall perform all presidents’ functions if the president is absent.

    • Secretary: Shall take and read minutes for each meeting. The Secretary is in charge of correspondents, communications throughout the club, and shall manage the club’s email account.

    • Treasurer: Is in charge of it club budget. The treasurer is the only one allowed to handle funds and needs approval from the officers to withdraw money. The Treasurer should also be able to attend the fundraisers.

  6. Advisor:
    1. Dr. Hany Othman – CIS Professor Royal Oak Campus

  7. Meetings:
    • The IT club will meet once a month on campus to discuss all plans for the club. The club may have more than one meeting in a month if an activity is planned.
    • If a large decision is needed to be made by the club members 33% of the members must be present at the meeting for the decision to be accepted.
    • Only club members in good club standing (dues paid) are allowed to participate in any club activity.
    • The Club may host a special meeting for elections during the spring semester.

  8. Membership Dues:
    • Annual Membership dues shall be $20.00 USD due at the beginning of each fall semester.
    • Some events/activities may require additional dues, depending on fundraising activities and club funds.
